I just created a press kit for the Rosemary Series of eco-adventures for kids.
There’s tons of advice on how to create a press kit for a book, for example:
- The Creative Penn: Book Marketing: Creating Your Author Press Kit.
- Writer’s digest: How to Create a Professional Press Kit in 8 Easy Steps.
It seems that there is some possible variation in the contents of the press kit. So I went with:
- A title page that lists the books in the series, with a short (!) description for each.
- A contact information page.
- A short author bio.
- Product information (what makes the books special?)
- “Interview resources”: anticipated interesting interview questions and answers. Kind of an interview with myself.
- A press release. I had to google separately how to do that.
- And a longish (5 pages) book excerpt from two different chapters, including two full-page pictures to showcase the beautiful images.
The press kit (PDF) is here, if you are interested to have a look!
